Koshien 89 Tournament Chart

Discussion in the High School forum
Koshien 89 Tournament Chart
I've compiled a chart for the 89th Annual Summer Koshien High School Championships of 2007. Day 1 starts on August 8, but weather will determine that and subsequent days. I'll try to keep this up to date as the tournament goes on.

The table has turned out to be too large to maintain within here, so it's been moved to it's own page here.

As I said before, if you're with the media and would like to use this table in your own publication (online or in print), please feel free. Just remember to give credit to JapaneseBaseball.com.

Those of you who studied the table of participating schools will have noticed that the teams are ranked A, B, and C. Those rankings are reflected in the above chart with the colors red, yellow, and blue respectively.

Those of you new to Koshien will be interested in knowing how this chart is decided upon. Well, it's done by drawing lots. That's why some of the blocks will feature final-level match ups in the lower rounds.

Furthermore, this single elimination chart goes up to the Best 8 teams. Placement in the quarter finals will also be decided by drawing lots once these first three rounds are completed.

I want to emphasize once again that the dates of match ups will fluctuate according to the weather. For the time being, Day 1 will be August 8th.
