If anyone catches any errors (misspellings), please let me know. There's so little information in English about the high schools (although Ken D. is doing something about that), that much of this may turn out to be primary sources for many. For that reason, I'd like to make it as correct as possible.

[Edited on Aug 6, 2007 7:47 PM JST to include Toshigi's Bunseigei Daifu and Saga's Saga Kita - Thanks Ken D. for spotting the errors.]

[Edited on Aug 6, 2007 8:21 PM JST - Fixed spelling of Nichinan and Kagoshima Gakuen.]

[Edited on Aug 6, 2007 8:30 PM JST - Fixed spelling of Urawa Gakuin and Jinsei Gakuen.]

Thank you for your work, Westbay-san. I hope many people will follow this summer's tournament, and we can only hope it approaches the excitement of last year's.

Checking around, it looks like the games will be shown live at Asahi. Perhaps this should be cross-posted to the Media Guide forum as well.

I'm sure this is available in several places, but the bracket can be found at Asahi [Japanese]. Play begins on Wednesday (August 8).

I was just walking around Kawaguchi today near the station and saw a ton of signs posted up all around about Urawa Gakuin being in Koshien. Very exciting!

Sadly, the funny part is that I would have had an easier time watching the games in America than I will now that I'm here in Japan.

Mr. Westbay (or for that matter someone in Japan),

Is it possible for someone to purchase the program guide for this year's Koshien tournament (by Asahi Shinbun) for me and mail it over? I'd be willing to pay the 500 yen plus postage via Paypal.

Sure, I'll get it if I can find it. I was looking for guides on Thursday, but didn't find any I liked. (I don't think I saw one from Asahi then.)

Write me to my handle at JapaneseBaseball.com.
