Japan pro baseball on Saturday ruled that Chunichi hurler Kazuki Yoshimi will not be sanctioned for having a garlic-based intravenous drip earlier this season.
NPB deemed the right-hander use of the IV was for medical purposes. League officials reviewed Yoshimi's medical records and concluded the Dragons hurler, who tied for the Central League high with 16 wins, didn't violate its anti-doping policy.
"We have determined that he was justified in using [an IV] for medical purposes," Atsushi Masujima, chair of the NPB medical affairs department said.
