Ryu is better than Chen - but that's not saying much

Ryu is better than Chen - but that's not saying much
I wanted to compare the two, using Nate Silver's QERA. We all know that the standard ERA is not a good indicator of a pitcher's strength, since pitcher's have little control over balls in play. Behind their decent ERAs are the following QERAs.

Chen 5.0501374739
Ryu 4.0489989118

I was shocked that Chen is responsible for about 5 runs a game.
About

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
