Tony Mounce

Tony Mounce
According to this article [Yahoo Sports], Tony Mounce of the Rangers is coming to Japan. Any idea where he might go? I don't know much about this guy, but a general rule of thumb: take Rangers' hitters, don't touch Rangers' pitching.

Well, he's a pitcher who had a 7.11 ERA in 50 2/3 inninings in Texas. Unless somebody sees a flaw in his mechanics they can fix, can teach him a new pitch, or he catches fire like pitchers sometimes do, I'd say offhand that your rule of thumb on Texas Rangers' pitchers would hold here. If none of those things occur, the MLB record suggests an ERA of over 5.00 waiting to happen, even in NPB.

Of course, he was probably better in the minors (as bad off as Texas is for pitching, they don't need that kind of performance, and if they thought he'd be that bad, they shouldn't have called him up). His whole MLB record can be found here [MLB.com].
