This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.
It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.

Obviously, at 23, Iwamura is still developing as a hitter, but I think the sooner he plays in the Majors, the better, if the Sports Nippon story is accurate. Although he might struggle at first like any other prospect, the higher level of competition would be good for him. Most, if not all, 23-year-old prospects who produce a .917 OPS at AAA would be on a MLB roster the next year, and the Central League is a higher class of ball.
