who the Favorite to sign him is. I hear the Mets, because Bobby V managed in Japan and can relate to him.

Matsui has said that he is interested in three teams: the Yankees, the Red Sox and the SF Giants. The Atlanta Braves are also extremely interested and I think that the Mets will probably make a bid, too. I'm expecting that if he does indeed choose MLB, he will be in Yankee pinstripes next season since Steinbrenner is relly hot to get a Japanese star player.

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.
