Brother Elephants Suffering Financially
Troubling news for the CPBL: according to team ownership, popular CPBL franchise - the Brother Elephants may be forced to fold next year if its losses exceed 40 million TWD (~ $1.3 million USD) in 2009.

I sure hope they fold. Worst team and organization I have ever been associated with in my career. They stole 60,000 dollars from me and robbed countless other players. They are also right up front in the gambling. Whatever bad that happens to them they deserve every bit of it.

Every year there seems to be talk of contraction in the CPBL. Losing the league's most popular franchise would be devastating.

I don't believe the CPBL will survive for much longer. Most of Taiwan's prospects have signed with Major League organizations, there are suspicions of gambling, and attendance continues to decline.
