Fukudome Out of Series

Fukudome Out of Series
Ugh.

Lou Piniella says he won't play Fukudome the rest of the Series, which may only be one last game. Fukudome's season started out promising, but he ended up looking like Nakamura when Nori played for the Dodgers. His swing is kind of ugly and he cannot seem to hit the off speed pitches. I think that the MLB pitches have found the hole in his swing.

I hope that he can get his swing back, otherwise he will be another disappointment for me.

I think Fukudome is what he is, and won't get any better.

Shame. I actually thought he would be a star for some odd reason.

I think what Fukudome needs is to take a trip to AAA for a little bit to work out the kinks in his swing or even just to help him get in some confidence. A trip to the minors in 2006 helped Kaz Matsui turn around his career, the Cubs should try and see if a trip to Iowa could be the cure for Fukudome. It's way too early to give up on Fukudome, let's see if he can get some work in Iowa and then try again.

A little update on the Fukudome situation for next year. Word has it that Pinella is going to platoon both Reed Johnson and Fukudome in center next season. I just read this recently, so take it for what it is.
