I meant no disrespect to Japanese baseball. Everything I have read has led me to believe that Mr. Valentine loves managing there. I have a lot of respect for him as a manager and stategist, and as a Mets fan, I would like to see him return to the organization.
I didn't see a lot of possibility in him going to the Mariners, but he has a close relationship with the Mets and was quoted last month as saying he could see himself coaching the Mets again sometime in the future, although not under current circumstances.
Chiefly I am interested in the Chiba Lotte Marines' climate. Mr. Valentine has a close relationship with the owner? And if he desired he may be able to leave for a season or two? I have heard they discussed a lifetime contract even?

Bobby knows first hand what a total circus the Mets organization is. The Wilpons have not given a manager any real authority in Queens for the last two decades. They say the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.
