Cardinals' Japanese Counterpart

Cardinals' Japanese Counterpart
I was wondering if someone could post a team equivilant between the Japanese teams and a MLB team. I.E. by fans, geography, winning tradition, etc.

Obviously I am especically interested in a Japanese team that would correspond to the Cardinals, but I would also be interested for all of the teams.

I am just starting to follow the teams and am looking for an angle of which to follow, or not follow.

I think the Chunichi Dragons would be a good comparison to the St. Louis Cardinals.

The obvious one would be Yankees to the Yomiuri Giants.
