Kazuo Matsui, part 2
The Rockies recalled infielder Kazuo Matsui from AAA on Tuesday. Good luck to him, and I hope he plays well.

He did allright in AAA. The Rockies'shortstop isn't so hot, so maybe Kaz will get some playing time. He had a pinch hit single tonight.

Do you all think he'll stay in the US next year at workman's wages or return to Japan? If he returns to Japan, will he be in demand? Can he return to Japan?

Kaz has already said he isn't returning to Japan, and that the idea of him playing in the NPB is out of the question. So, he will probably return to the Rockies, as Barmes has been a disappointment, and Rockies manager Clint Hurdle has been impressed with Matsui's play so far.

He had two singles tonight against the Mets. Colorado is a good place for him. Hopefully he can stay healthy and produce. It's been a tough journey.

He's having quite a comeback! He's played in 8 of the last 9 games with hits in 7 of those games, .400+ average and almost 1.0 OPS. Hopefully he can stay healthy until the end of the season and salvage whatever value he has left as a major leaguer.

I didn't know, but he lost 5 weeks while with the Rockies AAA team due to a sore lower back. Anyway, I wish him well. The Mets have managed to do OK without him.
