Tatsuya Ozeki

Discussion in the Nichi-Bei forum
Tatsuya Ozeki
Near one month ago I heard that former Seibu Lion Tatsuya Ozeki signed a minor league contract with the Milwaukee Brewers. But since then I haven't seen anything about it. Anybody got news about that?

I also heard the same thing, but have heard nothing since then. I guess the deal fell apart.

Apparently the Brewers used up their alloted number of work visas. So, Ozeki was left in the dark. Overall, very bad by the Brewers. Very bad indeed. [Full Japan Baseball Daily Article]

Hopefully he gets a chance with another team.

Ozeki said he will abandon his wish to play in the minor leagues for this year.

According to Nikkan Sports, Tatsuya Ozeki is currently testing with the Giants.

The Giants could use him as a solid defensive player off the bench. If his bat can get back to .300 level, he could become a regular.

Which, Giants team is looking at Ozeki? Yomiuri or San Francisco?

I wondered the same thing until I read the article. It's the Yomiuri Giants. On these boards and in this case especially, it's impossible to tell which Giants team he's referring to.

This is one fan of TATSUYA OZEKI writing here.

I got some pleasant information regarding OZEKI on a radio yesterday. OZEKI had been registered as a registered member of top team. Congratulation!

Unfortuneterely, he did not get to play in the game at last night. However, as every fan knows, Mr. HARA, who is the GIANTS's field manager, has been putting newly registered players into games soon after ichi-gun registration (i.e. MIURA).

I figure this, left fielder SHIMIZU is not a very good bunter, and MIURA's defensive ability in center field is so excellent. Now, there is good possibility to be played in official games, which would be his first time in the Central League.

I have been anticipating seeing and enjoying OZEKI's exciting performance, soon.

*49 is the "back number" of TATUYA OZEKI.
