It's impossible for Kaz to return to the NPB via trade, as NPB and MLB teams don't trade players directly. A release is the best possibility, as he most likely would be picked up by a NPB team. Also, a cash consideration is also a consideration as MLB/NPB teams send players to teams for cash considerations.

Well, then Kaz has to have a stiff upper lip, put on his headband, and run the gauntlet. I posted some stuff from nymets.com on another thread that may give an inking into the club's thinking.

To avoid all the rehashing of the past, can we stick to discussing the means whereby Kaz can come home while saving face for all concerned? At least some of his salary for 2006 would have to be paid by the Mets, though all will not fly. What is the mechanism where his return can be facilitated? Trade? Release? Cash considerations?
