The Pads are using him as trade bait in the David Wells deal since the BoSox don't want or need Sean Burroughs. Yes, Bill Mueller has left Boston this off-season, but Kevin Youkilis has been groomed for the last three years to become the Red Sox's starter at third. Ohtsuka is really tempting for the Red Sox since the uncertainity with the Keith Foulke's health and the ability to regain his previous form has left the closer role open.
