There was a blurb in a San Francisco web site that Ichiro is unhappy losing in Seattle and has requested a trade. He might be taking that GG to other locker next spring.

Yea, I've read the article it's like a paragraph. Not much infomation though. Here's a Mariners forum where they talk about it: Link [Seattle PI].

Here you go: Link [Inside Bay Area].

This is actually the Oakland Tribune web site. Scroll down a bit to DATELINE.

It's for what it's worth.

The Mariners aren't trading Ichiro regardless of what the Giants or anyone offers them. Ichiro as a player is too valuable to the Mariners. He's easily there most valuable player. Though, what people here are forgeting is the value of Ichiro to the Mariners.

Ichiro's marketing value alone will not make this trade happen. There is no way Nintendo and Bavasi will trade Ichiro with his marketing value as it would be suicide. My opinion of this rumor is that such rumors come up every year and are to be taken with a grain of salt and/or ingored.

How do you know this? Your argument is rational, but the outcome can't categorically be proven now. You have a belief, that's all.

What if Ichiro really isn't happy and asks to be traded? Would/could/should the Mariners take it with a grain of salt or ignore it?

Come on Brooks, Ichiro isn't untouchable or carved out of gold.
Ichiro Trade Rumors

Consider the source. Dave Del Grande is probably one of the worst sports writers out there; read his archives if you don't believe me. He constantly creates idiotic trade ideas or notes in his columns, rumors that lack sources.
