Rough Day for Matsui

Rough Day for Matsui
I'm not much of a Yankee fan, but I do root for Matsui. I hope they don't totally blame him for the loss, but he did have a bad game. O-5 and he stranded 8 runners.

Matsui can't be blamed for everything, you have to look at A-Rod's 0 RBIs in 5 games while hitting like .162 (I'm not sure, but somewhere around there), Bubba Crosby running into Sheff's way to catch the flyball which cost the Yankees 2 runs, and Moose who gave up 5 earned runs and was knocked out in the 3rd inning. I would blame it mostly on Mussina; 5 earned runs in less then 3 innings is really bad in a must win playoff game.

As a Met fan and a Yankee hater, I can say that I really like Matsui. He's the only Yankee I like. He is a true professional. Very old school.

Matsui had a great year. No blame there. A-Rod choked and the Big Unit was cut down to size. The Yankees pulled it together during the season, but they are a shell of their former dynasty teams. They did not have their old untouchaable starting lineup, their pen was shaky until they could hand the ball to Rivera, and the had some holes in the lineup. A collection of stars in search of a team.

Of the excuses, as David Letterman said - Giambi lost his lucky syringe, how can you expect them to win with a payroll of $200 million? Poor George. LOL.

The only thing that would've been better is if that Yankees TV network held a 24-hour, reality TV-type footage of George following the loss! Man, that would rule.

Another off-season of drama for the Yankees. It could be an ugly one if they let Matsui leave town.

That would be hilarious! George could do another Apprentice Show. It could be called; The Gofer, The Lackey.
