BlueWave will not sign Reds top pick

BlueWave will not sign Reds top pick
The BlueWave have stopped trying to sign infielder Mark Schramek, the Cincinnati Reds' second pick in this summer's amateur draft. Orix officials said Friday that Schramek, who passed the Pacific League club's tryout last month, rejected a 9-year deal that included a $40,000 signing bonus.

No surprise there. Mark Teahen, the 39th player selected received a $750,000 signing bonus from the Oakland A's and Micah Schilling, the 41st player drafted, received a $915,000 bonus from the Cleveland Indians. Scramek was the 40th player taken.
About

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
