Former NPBers offspring

Discussion in the Nichi-Bei forum
Former NPBers offspring
Yesterday on ESPN Peter Gammons talked about how Zach Lind, the drummer of the popular rock/alternative band Jimmy Eat World, is the son of former Brewers infielder Jack Lind. Jack Lind once played for the Yomiuri Giants back in the later '70s. It's likely that Zach lived here in Tokyo during the year that Jack played for the Giants.

18-year old Prince Fielder was recently drafted (7th overall I believe) and signed by the Milwaukee Brewers. When his dad Cecil played with Hanshin back in '89, Prince was just a pudgy 5-year old. It'll be interesting to see if he'll have a better career in MLB than another NPBer offspring Derrek Lee.
About

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
