KBO Draft System and Info?

KBO Draft System and Info?
Hi,

I've been assigned to do some research on the Korean professional baseball draft on behalf of a certain MLB team. I thought this would be the perfect place to get some great advice and information. I was wondering if, by any chance, anyone knew any general information about the Korean Baseball Organization draft? I was wondering if anyone could help me answer a few questions about how the pro Korean baseball draft works. This is quite urgent and if someone can help I would be very grateful. If you can help me out with these questions that woud be great.
  • What are the dates the 2 drafts are held this year?
  • What is the basic format of the draft? ie: How many rounds?
  • Signability?
  • Average salary given to players drafted in certain rounds?
  • Just about anything about how the draft works?
  • If the players drafted are primarily high school or college players or both?
  • Are players from other countries subject to the draft?
  • How long a team has to sign a draft pick before they relinquish their rights?
  • How supplemental or compensatory picks work if there is such a thing?
  • Any other information you think is important pertaining to the draft.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Maybe you missed it, but a little below your post was one entitled "Draftstuffs." It has a link to Shinsano's piece by the same name on East Windup Chronicle. I think that this will answer some of your questions, and perhaps the rest could be asked as a follow up there.

Of course, Shinsano-san is probably working for an MLB team in competition with you, so don't be too surprised if there's a bit of a conflict of interest. Still, I've found him to be open and fair. So I'm sure he'll do what he can to help without giving away any trade secrets. (And it is a bit much to expect him or anyone to do all of your homework. Maybe you could create a smaller list of just core questions, the answers with which you could then use to do follow up research on?)
