When Daniel Rios was asked about adjusting to life in South Korea, his face broke into a smile.

The 34-year-old American said the secret to gaining respect in this land, located halfway around the world from his home in Florida, is simple. He hasn't had to overburden himself trying to become fluent in the Korean language _ although his ability to speak it is improving. Nor has he had to become an expert on the country's culture or history to impress his peers.
