I'm looking for information on my nephew, Shane Bowers, with the Unicorns. I.e., stats., etc.

Thanks for any help.

Shane Bowers is enjoying a terrific season with the Hyundai Unicorns. His stats as of today (July 4, 2003) include 10-2, 2.92, 63 Ks in 104 2/3 innings pitched.

He is one of two KBO starters that have won 10 games. Also, he is first in innings pitched and second in ERA. If he keeps on going like this, he has a shot to become the first foreign pitcher to win the Golden Glove award, Korean version of Japanese "Best Nine."

The Unicorns (41-27 with 1 draw) are now four games behind first place Samsung and have 64 games to go this season. Your nephew even has a chance to become the first 20-game winner since 1999 when Jeong Min-tae of the Unicorns went 20-7.

Jeong Min-tae, known as Chon Minte in Japan, came back to the Unicorns this season after spending two unsuccessful years (2001-2002) with the Yomiuri Giants.
