Former KBO Players in MLB
The April 24, 2003 Korea Times [Link] has an article on three former Samsung Lion players playing in the Major Leagues.

Pittsburgh Pirate Salomon Torres received noteriety when he threw a pitch that cracked Sammy Sosa's helmet other day. Torres played two games for the Lions in 2001 with a 20.25 ERA.

Atlanta Braves' first baseman Julio Franco hit .327 with 110 RBIs in 2000 with Samsung.

Arizona Diamondbacks' second baseman Carlos Baerga hit .275 (33-for-120) with four homers in 39 games for the Lions in 2001.

In addition, three others played in the Major Leagues after returning from the KBO but are not currently on MLB rosters:

    Joe Strong (Hyundai Unicorns 1998)
Jose Parra (Samsung Lions 1998, Hanhwa Eagles 2002)
Felix Jose (Lotte Giants in 1999, 2001)

About

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
