The April 28, 2003 Korea Times [Link] highlights Sunday's Korean Baseball Organization games.

Samsung Lions 1 - LG Twins 0:
Lions' starting pitcher Lim Chang-yong and closer Noh Jang-jin held the Twins scoreless with only two hits at Chamsil. Noh pitched the ninth inning for his fourth save of 2003. Tilson Brito drove in the only run of the game with a seventh inning two-out single. Lee Seung-ho took the loss for LG.

Hyundai Unicorns 10 - Lotte Giants 0:
Chong Min-tae struck out five batters in 7 1/3 innings to shutdown the Giants in Pusan for the Unicorns ninth straight win. Cho Yong-joon notched his ninth save. The Unicorns erupted for eight runs in the eigth inning including back to back home runs by Micah Franklin and Shim Jong-soo.

Hanhwa Eagles 6 - SK Wyverns 0:
Horacio Estrada pitched a three hit, three walk, five strike out complete game win over the Wyverns in Inchon to end the Eagles six game losing streak.

Kia Tigers 11 - Doosan Bears 4:
Jang Sung-ho hit a grand slam home run off of Lee Sang-hoon to power the Tigers over the Bears in Kwanju.

The May 1, 2003 Korea Times [Link] reports on Wednesday's Korean Baseball Organization action.

Hyundai Unicorns 3 - Samsung Lions 1:
Shim Jong-soo hit 3-for-4 in the first game of a doulbleheader to lead the Unicorns over the Lions in Taegu.

Hyundai Unicorns 6 - Samsung Lions 4:
Shim was also the hero in the second game by getting on base five times on two hits and three walks. One of the hits was a two run homer. His seventh home run of 2003 put Shim in a tie with Ma Hae-young for the KBO home run lead. Shim also leads the league with 21 RBI. Cho Yong-joon notched his 10th and 11th saves in the two games. The wins put the Unicorns in first place in front of the Lions and carried their unbeaten string to 11 games.

Doosan Bears 2 - Lotte Giants 0:
The Bears took the first game of a doubleheader from the lowly Giants in Seoul.

Lotte Giants 7 - Doosan Bears 3:
Ex-LG Twin Park Youn-soo blasted a ninth-inning grand slam home run to beat Doosan Bears. Giants' pitcher Kim Jang-hyun (1-5) got his first win after losing his first five games of 2003.

LG Twins 2 - SK Wyverns 1:
The Twins used five pitchers in the first game at Incheon. Lee Sang-hoon earned his fourth save of 2003.

SK Wyverns 1 - LG Twins 0:
The Wyverns got only one run on three hits, but still, it was enough to give Cho Jin-ho (2-1) the victory over the Twins who were blanked on eight hits.

Hanwha Eagles 4 - Kia Tigers 1:
Lee Sang-mok (3-1) struck out eight batters while giving up only one run and seven hits in six innings to win the game. Kim Tae-gyun and Lee Beom-ho hit home runs in the first game of the doubleheader in Taejon.

Hanwha Eagles 10 - Kia Tigers 5:
Hwang Woo-koo hit a two-run home run, Lee Young-woo a three-run blast, and lifted a two-run homer to trounce the Tigers. Jung Min-chul (3-1) pitched five innings for the win.

The May 2, 2003 Korea Times [Link] highlights Thursday's KBO games.

Samsung Lions 5 - Hyundai Unicorns 3:
The Lions broke the Unicorns' 11 game winning streak and regained first place in the KBO standings by beating Hyundai in Taegu. Jin Kab-yong's two-run homer was part of a five run, eight hit second inning for the Lions. Noh Jang-jin (3-0) earned his fifth save by pitching two scoreless innings.

Kia Tigers 3 - Hanwha Eagles 1:
The Eagles' Chang Jong-hoon became the first player to drive in 1,100 RBIs in the KBO with a single in the bottom of ninth. Chang is two hits shy of 1,700 career hits. Jin Pil-jung picked up his sixth save in the game at Taejon. Song Jin-woo (1-5) lost his fourth consecutive game.

Lotte Giants 13 - Doosan Bears 1:
The Giants drove in a record tying 13 runs on 22 hits to stomp the Bears in Seoul. Lee Jung-hoon (1-2) notched his first win as a starter while giving up only one run, seven hits, and two walks in six innings.

SK Wyverns 4 - LG Twins 3:
Eddie Diaz hit a third inning solo home run and a fifth inning two-run homer to beat the Twins in Inchon. Cho Ung-chun (1-1) picked up his sixth save of 2003. Manny Martinez hit a solo home run for LG Twins.
