岡田監督は苦虫をかみつぶしたような表情でロッカールームから出てきた。矢野の存在感が光った分、その後の「落差」が歯がゆかった。「キャッチャーが変わったら、ああなるということ」。キャンプ中から何度も苦言を呈してきた狩野にまたも矛先を向けた。７回からマスクをかぶるや、松田に１発を食らうなど４失点。金村暁の良さを引き出せなかった。「２ストライクから何回も打たれて…。何回も言っていることやん」。矢野は頼りになるが、後継者の育成も課題としてある。
