広島の大学・社会人ドラフト４巡目ルーキー松山竜平外野手（２２＝九州国際大）が「デビュー戦」で２安打１打点と活躍した。２３日のソフトバンクとのオープン戦開幕戦（都城）に先発し、１打席目に右越えの先制二塁打を放った。愛称アンパンマンの丸っこい風ぼうと、群を抜く長打力で注目度の高かった新人が快調なスタートを切った。
