楽天が意地の１勝を挙げた。逆転勝ちでオリックスに今季１２勝１１敗１分けとし、パ球団相手では球団３年目で初のカード別勝ち越しを決めた。序盤３回まで１－４と試合の主導権を握られたが、中盤から怒とうの反撃。５回に１点差に詰め寄ると、７回に草野の適時打で追いつき、なおも２死二、三塁から礒部の適時二塁打で決勝点を挙げた。ライバル球団の継投策を完ぺきに攻略した。
