ロッテは序盤の失点が響き、敗れた。今カード１勝３敗と負け越し、ゲーム差は４へ広がり、自力Ｖの可能性も消滅した。先発小野が、３回に押し出し死球などから試合を決める４点を失った。小野は「大事な試合ということはよく分かっていたけど、その気持ちが空回りや力みとなってしまった」。試合後、日本ハムナインが勝利のハイタッチを交わす姿に一瞬、視線を送った後に、しばらく顔を覆ってうなだれていた。
