ヤクルト・グライシンガーが２度目の「１－０」完封を、あっさりとやってのけた。３安打無四球で、自己最多１０奪三振。決め球チェンジアップの配分をいつもより少なくすることで、最速１４９キロの直球をより速く見せた。走者を許したのは２回、４回だけ。「相手に研究されていると思ったからね。でも実際、チェンジアップが狙われていたかはわからなかったけどね」と言うほど危なげない内容だった。最多勝争い独走の１４勝目を挙げ、防御率でもトップに立った。
