鬼門の「札幌ドーム」でヤクルトに２連勝。巨人が連勝を「４」に伸ばし、じわりと混セの輪から抜け出した。木佐貫洋投手（２７）が８回途中降板も２失点で新人の０３年以来、自己最多タイの１０勝目。８回２死満塁をしのいだ上原浩治投手（３２）が２６セーブ目を挙げた。上原は、佐々木（横浜）以来、史上２人目の月間１１セーブで球団新記録を樹立した。巨人は雨天中止の２位中日に１・５ゲーム差、広島に敗れた３位阪神に５差をつけて、リードを広げた。
