オリックスは終盤に粘りを見せ、今季５度目の引き分けに持ち込んだが、コリンズ監督は「チームにとってはプラスにならない」と険しい表情だった。先発メンバーからローズを外したことについても言葉少なで「とにかく、きょうはメンバーに入れたくなかったんだ」と繰り返すだけ。一回一死満塁の好機で得点できなかったことを嘆くなど、指揮官の表情は最後まで晴れなかった。
