阪神は長期遠征を終え、甲子園に帰ってきての初戦。決め手を欠き、引き分けに終わった。岡田監督は「こんなことしていたら、ピッチャーがつぶれてまうわ」と仏頂面で打撃陣を責めた。投手陣は４回３失点の能見から、今季初登板の安藤、『ＪＦＫ』と必死につないでいく。だが、打線が淡泊な攻め。シーツ、林威助が無安打で中軸が機能せず。サヨナラのチャンスだった延長十一回一死二塁も、藤本、鳥谷とあっけなく凡退した。指揮官は「情けない」と厳しい口調だった。選手は疲労感いっぱいで暗い表情。矢野は「勝たないかん試合やった」と悔しさをにじませた。
