ロッテ・成瀬は序盤からいつもの繊細な制球力を欠いていた。五回には一発を浴び「自分を見失ってしまった」。防御率１点台、しかも西武戦４勝の左腕だけに、四回までの２点リードで“勝負あり”にも映ったが、この回に追いつかれてしまった。ただ、直後に打線が勝ち越し、七回途中にピンチを招いて降板したが、救援陣が踏ん張った。自身６連勝での１２勝目にも「ほかの投手と野手のおかげ」と盛んにテレていた。
