日本ハムは１０残塁とチグハグな攻撃で３連敗。１−３の七回、二死満塁で見逃し三振に倒れた４番の稲葉は「何もない」と吐き捨てるように言い、足早に引き揚げた。さらに一、五回には走塁ミスから逸機し、チーム事情から中３日での強行先発となったスウィーニーを援護しきれなかった。ヒルマン監督は「ここ一番で打てなかったのが敗因。きょうも、らしくない展開だった」と険しい表情だった。
