楽天田中の三度目の正直はならなかった。９回、守護神小山があと１死でゲームセットというところで同点適時打を浴び、勝ち投手の権利があった田中はベンチでガックリ。１０勝が消えた瞬間だった。球団記録の２ケタ勝利を前に２度足踏みしていたが、またもお預けとなった。
