中日が首位巨人を投打で圧倒し、７－２で快勝。直接対決３連戦で勝ち越し、２ゲーム差と接近して「混セ再来」を演出した。１－１で迎えた３回にウッズが２８号２ラン。６回にも２９号２ランと２発４打点で巨投を破壊した。打点７７として、本塁打、打点の２部門でリーグトップに立った。３位阪神もＪＦＫの鉄板リレーで横浜に５－１と快勝。こちらは３・５ゲーム差。セの熱～い戦いは、まだまだ続きそうだ。
