ヤクルトは０−１の五回に勝負に出た。飯原に真中、好投の館山に鈴木と次々と代打の切り札を送って攻撃したが、黒田を打ち崩せず。結局、青木のソロ本塁打だけと打線が振るわず球宴を挟んで３連敗となった。古田監督は「黒田はいい投手だから勝負をかけないといけなかった」と説明。この日、１カ月半ぶりに一軍登録したが出番なしに終わって「投手交代に忙しかった」と淡々とコメントした。
