黒星デビューは「大物」の証しだ！ 楽天田中将大投手（１８）が第２戦の全パ先発で登場。全セ打線に真っ向勝負を挑んだが、２回に巨人阿部の逆転３ランなど７安打を浴び６失点とホロ苦デビューとなった。高卒新人の球宴記録として、９９年西武松坂（現レッドソックス）以来の登板で、６７年江夏（阪神）と松坂に次いで３人目の敗戦投手となった。第２戦は１１－５で全セが８回表降雨コールド勝ちし、０５年第１戦から６連勝を飾った。通算成績は全セの６７勝７３敗８分け。
