６度目出場の広島前田智徳外野手（３６）が２０日、球宴第１戦（東京ドーム）で初本塁打を放ち優秀選手賞を獲得した。全セを率いる中日落合監督も認める「天才打者」。初の球宴アーチに寡黙な男が珍しくガッツポーズを見せた。プロ１８年目。あと３１本と迫る２０００安打へ、いよいよカウントダウンに入る。第１戦の最優秀選手は決勝２ランのヤクルト・ラミレス。屈辱の１安打完封負けを喫した全パは５２年ぶりデーゲーム開催となる第２戦（フルキャスト宮城）、ルーキーの楽天田中将大投手（１８）を先発に起用し、５連敗の屈辱をはね返す。
