野村楽天に救世主が現れた。新外国人のドミンゴ・グスマン投手（３２＝元中日）が西武１２回戦（フルキャスト宮城）で初登板し、６回６安打５奪三振１失点で初先発初勝利をマークした。連敗ストッパーを務めていた田中将大投手（１８）でも止められなかった連敗を３で止め、５割にまで下がった野村監督の通算成績にも貯金１をプレゼントした。横浜、中日でも各１３勝を挙げており、３球団での白星は外国人投手として４人目になる。
