原巨人が泥沼の連敗を６で止めた。「信念」の采配が勝利に結びついた。新人金刃が初完封目前の８回２死から安打を打たれると、原監督は迷わず前日打たれた豊田で後続を断った。９回は守護神上原でピシャリ。亀井１号、小笠原２０号２ランの３点を守って完封勝ちだ。嫌なムードが流れかけていた巨人だが、金刃７勝目、豊田も生かし、勝利のパターンを取り戻して連敗脱出だ。
