西武西口のプロ通算１５０勝はまたもお預けとなった。６回７失点に「勝ちたい気持ちが強かったので悔しい。（本来の）オレがどっか遠くに行っちゃったよ」とうなだれた。１４９勝目を挙げてから２連敗。チームも２試合連続の完封負けで借金１に逆戻りした。夏季限定オールドユニホームのお披露目を勝利で飾れず、伊東監督は「何の見せ場もない試合。１０連敗の内容に近づいている。ズルズルいかないようにしないと」と嘆いた。
