ナゴヤドームに衝撃が走った。２－０の中日リードで迎えた８回表阪神の攻撃。先頭・野口の強烈なピッチャー返しが、中日川上の左胸を直撃した。もんどりうって倒れた川上はあお向けのまま動けない。マウンド付近にナインらがかけ寄った。約３分後にゆっくりと起き上がった川上は、自分の足で一塁側ベンチに下がり、交代した。名古屋市内の病院に直行。エックス線検査の結果、骨には異常なく、打撲と診断された。
