西武江藤が、プロ野球史上歴代３位に並ぶ通算１３本目の満塁本塁打で試合の決着をつけた。５－２でリードした９回２死満塁。ヤクルト石川の速球を完ぺきにとらえ、左翼席に２号満塁弾を放り込んだ。「自然と体が反応した。今日の試合はヒーローがいっぱいいる。最後に打たせてもらっただけですよ」。試合後に呼ばれたヒーローインタビューで照れ笑いした。
