巨人の新外国人ＧＧが初先発初勝利を挙げた。１球約６秒のテンポで攻め、直球主体に低めに集めた。ときおり見せる高めのつり球も効果的だった。４回ローズに本塁打を浴びるなど６回を投げ４失点も、被安打４。「結果はともかく勝ててうれしい。アベがいいリードをしてくれた」とメジャー３０勝右腕は新天地での１勝を素直に喜んだ。
