マー君に負けられない。西武のルーキー岸孝之投手（２２）が、阪神を４安打に抑え、プロ初完封で５勝目を飾った。球団で新人の完封は９９年の松坂（現レッドソックス）以来で、チームの連敗を「１０」でストップさせる立役者となった。また楽天田中、岸と新人２投手が１日で同時完封したのは、７２年９月１７日の加藤初（西鉄）野崎（南海）以来の快挙だった。
