やっと調子を上げてきた横浜金城が同点適時打を放った。２回無死二、三塁から三遊間を破った。金城は「振り切る打撃をしようと決めていた。バットのシンでとらえることができましたね」と満足そうに話した。４、５月は２割３分台の打率しか残せなかった。それが６月に入ってから急上昇、この日の１本で６試合連続安打となった。
