ハンカチ世代吉川の粘投で、日本ハムが連勝を１４に伸ばした。高校生ドラフト１巡目のルーキー吉川光夫投手（１９＝広陵）がヤクルト３回戦に先発し、７安打されながらも５回２／３を無失点に抑えて初勝利を挙げた。６回にセギノールの先制２ランが飛び出し、８回裏に降雨コールドというツキも味方につけた。今回の連勝中に初勝利を挙げた木下、金森に続く孝行息子の登場で、チームは交流戦負けなしの１２連勝となった。
