巨人がソフトバンクに劇的な逆転勝利で、首位をキープした。３点ビハインドの７回１死満塁の場面で、代打清水の代打で矢野謙次外野手（２６）が登場。左腕篠原から左翼席へ逆転満塁弾を放った。巨人で代打逆転満塁本塁打は８７年の原辰徳（現監督）以来で、代打の代打で逆転満塁弾となると球団初の快挙だった。これで巨人は苦手の交流戦で４勝３敗と勝ち星が先行、首位固めに入った。
