中日中村紀が連敗中の暗いムードを振り払った。２回ウッズの先制ソロに続き、楽天青山から１発。メジャー挑戦年を除けば９５年から１２シーズン連続２ケタとなる１０号に「まだ通過点。昨日のこともあったし、チームの雰囲気を変えたかった。今日は勝たないといけなかった」と話した。５月３０日は９回に守備の乱れで逆転負けしていただけに、大きな１発だった。７回には４月２１日ヤクルト戦以来の２発となる１１号３ランでダメ押し。チームの連敗も３でストップし、交流戦成績を五分に戻した。
